Aloha!

yesh!!!! I'm finally HOME!!! Realised I've been spending more time outside than at home nowadays...nah~ ~just came home not too long ago from JAMs chalet @ Aloha Loyang! I had spent 3 days and two nights there...haha and din feel homesick at all! Think the reason was that the bed was super comfortable, yes!!! it really is!!! The bungalow was very BIG too! Gone are the days where we spent $20 each to stay at the NTUC Resort @ Downtown East and squeeze into a small pathetic room, fighting for the toilets etc!

Bungalow No 14 - 'Nightjar' had a big kitchen, 1 dining area, 1 living room (so called TV room), 4 bedrooms with a toilet EACH and an additional toilet next to the kitchen as well! I guess we're all (okie, maybe it's just me) so pretty amazed by what the chalet provides too...many spoons, forks, chopsticks, cups and pots and plates are also provided...wahaha! But then again, it's expected because it's not the normal kinda chalet - it's only exclusive for the government civil servants.

Yeah, other than its rather inaccessibilty and some of the surprise visits from its frequent visitors like Mr Beetles (yikes!), Xiao-Ming aka cockroaches (screams!!!), Mr Bi Hu (bleah!) and Ms Yi-Wen (ouch!)...basically, we had quite an enjoyable fun playing interesting card games like "Daidi", "24", "Memory Game" and "Taboo". Not to forget our all time favourite entertainer - TV, with Channelnews Asia and Central being the most popular channels throughout the chalet stay.

The highlight of the whole chalet of coz is our JAMs Appreciation Nite cum BBQ Dinner on 5th Jan! Janice and I "busied" ourselves the whole Wed afternoon trying to prepare for the BBQ in the evening- washing the dishes, peeling the egg-shells, chasing out a cat (sadly, but the cat kept coming back and it was rather friendly! Cute!)......phew~ Thank God for Sis Lily and Mingyan who did most of the cooking...All I did in the end, after all the preparation was to EAT (Drink and make merry!)! hahaha! but I didn't eat much coz I'm having a sore throat already *sobz* ...too bad! Yeah, and we had a wonderful time of games filled with tremendous laughter and a great video clip done by Teacher Rick! Super! This video was done over in a year with JAMs events from the beginning to the end...that's ALOT of work! 3 cheers and a round of applause for Teacher Rick!

What's best! Today, I had the whole bed to myself after 6am...haha, and to think that we woke up early to check out at 10 plus, end up we were told that our supposed check out time was on Fri 10am - meaning, we can still spend a night there! How ridiculous! hahaha...we wished, but nah ~ too bad it ain't holiday season if not most of us will definitely stay to use the facilities such as the swimming pool and jacuzzi that we saw when we're about the leave the place...

JAMs meetings/getherings never fails to let me see the synergy that the workers in this ministry has. No matter whether it's work or play, it's totally dedicated devotion and love for God and for the students. The appreciation recognises workers that have gone to the extra mile, beyond their normal level of service required from them. This year, truly, the trophies are well awarded to the workers. Everyone of them deserves it! And of course to all in the JAMs family, present or past, older or newer workers, we're so blessed to be in such a loving family as we serve God together!!! To God be the Glory! And yes, 2005 will be the best year yet for JAMs!
